Privacy notice
This website is operated by William Tyrone Toms, LLC. This notice explains how we use information on thewilltoms.com. For privacy questions or requests, email will@thewilltoms.com.
What you share with us
When you send a consulting or speaking inquiry, we collect the details you enter: your name, email, organization or event, and any location, date, audience details, or message you provide. We use these to respond and follow up about your inquiry. Please do not include sensitive personal information.
For the newsletter, we collect your email address. We send a confirmation link before adding you to the newsletter list. An inquiry does not subscribe you to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time using their unsubscribe link.
Website analytics
We use PostHog to understand page visits, public link and button clicks, accepted form submissions, and how visitors move through the site using session recordings. Analytics starts automatically unless you opt out or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
Form contents are excluded from recordings, and page text is masked. We do not send names, email addresses, visitor URL query strings, or URL fragments to PostHog, or link analytics to your inquiry or subscription. Console logs and network request contents are not recorded.
Analytics identifiers are kept in memory rather than analytics cookies or persistent visitor profiles. PostHog receives network information needed to handle requests; IP-based geolocation is disabled. We save your opt-out choice in this browser. Earlier opt-out choices remain honored. Turning collection off stops future collection, but does not delete information already collected.
Use the controls below or Analytics preferences in the footer to opt out.
Your analytics choice
You can turn analytics and recordings off without affecting the website or its forms. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track also turn collection off.
Services that help run the website
Vercel hosts the website and processes technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure it. Brevo processes inquiry notifications, email confirmations, and subscription lists. PostHog processes website analytics. These providers receive the information needed to provide their services. Inquiries are delivered to Will's business email and may be handled by authorized team members.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Links to external websites, including the shop and social platforms, are governed by those services' own privacy notices.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry information while it is needed to respond, manage the resulting business relationship, and meet applicable legal obligations. Newsletter information is kept while you remain subscribed; limited suppression records may be retained to honor an unsubscribe request. Technical and analytics information is kept according to the purposes above and the service providers' retention settings. You can ask us to delete information that we no longer need.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict processing, or object to its use. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Contact will@thewilltoms.com to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal timeframe.
For UK and European visitors, where applicable, we process inquiries to take steps at your request or for our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries. Newsletter subscriptions rely on your consent. Limited website measurement supports our legitimate interest in improving the site, subject to your right to object. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
For California residents, where applicable, rights may include knowing the categories and specific pieces of information collected, requesting deletion or correction, and using an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, and we honor Global Privacy Control by disabling website analytics.
International processing and security
This website and its providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those safeguards must apply. We use HTTPS and limit access to the people and providers who need it, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children and updates
This website is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information. We may update this notice as the website changes; the effective date above identifies the current version.
